Happy June to everyone!! It is hard to believe that we are in the final week of school. It has been a wonderful year of learning for students, staff, and parents. Thank you to the teachers and families for the countless hours you invested this year, both in and out of school, to make this a successful year for the children.
We bid our 3rd grade students farewell as they transition to middle school and wish them luck as they take the next step of their educational journey. Congratulations to our kindergarten students on their graduation and promotion to first grade!
As our students prepare to leave school, they are equipped with numerous reading strategies, which help them to advance in their reading levels. Summer can be a season full of good times and fun memories, but kids might experience learning losses when they don’t read during the summer. There’s actually a name for it. It’s called “the summer slide”. Reading is an important part of everyday life. Just because it is summer, students should not put their books away! The more our students read, the better readers they will be. Help your child maintain his/her reading development and continue to grow by reading over the summer.
Wishing you and your families a safe and relaxing summer vacation.
