Today, 2B performed the Dancing Raisins Experiment. The purpose of this experiment was to allow the children to see gas at work and to analyze the effect of gas on raisins. Students formed a hypothesis using their knowledge of the matter properties and the materials displayed. Then they performed the experiment as a group, each students being responsible for a specific role. Students analyzed the effects of the seltzer bubbles on the raisins versus raisins in plain tap water. Finally, students then had the option to show what they observed and learned either using a lab report template, typing a paragraph on the Forte keyboards, or creating an experiment booklet. Overall, 2B had a great time with this experiment and learned a lot!
