It is hard to believe that the first marking period is over on Friday. Parent teacher conferences have started and will continue through this date. If you have not done so yet, I encourage you to schedule a meeting with your child’s teacher. Parent-teacher conferences are an opportunity to establish strong, clear communication between parents and teachers. This is an opportunity for both the parent and teacher to gain a mutual understanding around a child’s learning style. These open communications are beneficial in helping our students achieve their full potential.
Along with the cooler weather it is also cold and flu season. Please be mindful of our school’s health policies. The health and safety of every student is very important to us. Our staff takes care to support and maintain the health and well being of all our students. If your child is sick please keep them home so they can get the rest they need to get well. Jackets and or sweatshirts (depending on daily temperatures) are required for all students in order to go out for recess. Please make sure that your child follows our dress code. Sweaters and sweatshirts that are not part of the school uniform are not permitted.
After school tutoring started in October. If you received a letter inviting your child to attend, we strongly encourage you take advantage of this additional support. Please make every effort to ensure your child attends regularly.
Our dismissal for inclement weather days has changed. All parents will enter through the front doors on Madonna Place and children will be picked up from the classroom. Please note that this is not a time for parent conferences. As you know, the safety of the children is always our first concern. If you need to meet with your child’s teacher, please set up an appropriate time for this.
As Thanksgiving approaches we emphasis the joy of family gatherings and are thankful for our family, friends and school community. Please join us for our annual Thanksgiving Dinner on Monday, November 21st. Doors open at 5:30 pm and dinner is served from 6:00-8:00 PM. This annual traditional is a great opportunity for all our Bergen families to get together to celebrate and enjoy a delicious meal together.
We continue to encourage you to be mindful of drop off and pick up procedures.
