BASCS Elementary staff and students gathered for a very special assembly before our winter break as Master Pacheco from the International Academy of Tae Kwon Do in Garfield visited the school. Master Pacheco, a former Olympian representing Ecuador, arrived at the school with a few of his students from the academy and did an anti-bullying and self-motivation presentation. Third graders Myriam Molina and Christopher Sledz and first graders Victoria Molina and Aliya Shams, who are also students at Master Pacheco’s school, joined him in the presentation as well. Master Pacheco spoke to the students about verbal and physical types of bullying and the students did several anti-bullying skits to teach ways on how to handle bullying. The students watched in amazement as Master Pacheco and his students showed several Tae Kwon Do moves for all to enjoy. All K-3 students got motivated as they got up and had a chance to practice some moves with Master Pacheco too! The presentation was extremely motivating, informative and exciting to watch and it was a pleasure to have Master Pacheco and all of his students perform for us on this day.
